Buddy companions

Premium gives your account one slotted companion that a connected app can carry and care for.

Choose your next activity

Only one care activity can run at a time. Its benefits apply immediately, then all care is locked until the activity ends. Each action also has its own repeat cooldown, measured from its start. Choose food or cleaning for a quick top-up, play for mood, training for XP, or a longer rest to conserve your companion's stats.

ActionLocks all care forRepeat cooldownEffects
Feed2 minutes30 minutes+35 fed, +8 mood
Play5 minutes20 minutes+18 mood, −4 energy
Rest20 minutes45 minutes+40 energy, +6 mood; all stat decay reduced by 75% during rest
Clean2 minutes40 minutes+45 cleanliness, +6 mood
Train10 minutes60 minutes+40 XP, +5 mood, −10 energy

Awake decay per hour: 8 fed, 6 energy, 5 cleanliness and 2 mood. Stats cap at 100. Regular care can maintain high stats; training trades a short energy dip for XP. For example, feed, clean two minutes later, play two minutes after that, optionally train after play, then rest. Repeat hourly. You do not need to train to keep your companion happy. Rest protection ends after 20 minutes even if the app is closed. Bond does not decay.

Away events can grant resources or XP. Fainted companions cannot scout until they recover. Any owned beast can be a Buddy, including an imported personal collection beast.

Build a companion app

The public API exposes the state and care actions. This lets you build a Tamagotchi-style interface or another custom client. External apps are independent consumers of WaveBeasts; they are not part of the core suite.

Use POST /api/buddy/slot with {"beast_id": null} to unslot a companion. Switching devices, changing companions or unslotting does not remove activity locks or care cooldowns.
