Beasts & progression

Beasts & types

There are nine elements:

embertideleaf sparkstonegale frostshadelumen

Every beast has one type, with a 35% chance of a second (dual) type. Shade and lumen are a mirror pair - each beats the other and resists itself - a light/dark axis orthogonal to the elemental wheel.

Rarity & shinies

Five tiers, weighted by effective entropy - higher entropy shifts the odds toward the top:

commonuncommon rare epic legendary

Rarity also sets a minimum IV floor (better guaranteed stats) and a catch resistance (harder to catch):

RarityIV floor (of 31)Catch resistance
common01.00×
uncommon40.85×
rare80.65×
epic120.45×
legendary160.28×

Shinies are a rare alternate colouring, more likely at high entropy. The exact odds are intentionally secret - treat them as very rare.

Natures

Every individual carries one of 16 natures. They're personality flavour - they do not change stats; apps use them to theme behaviour (e.g. your Buddy's chat tone).

Brave · Timid · Playful · Grumpy · Loyal · Curious · Lazy · Fierce · Gentle · Clever · Wild · Cheerful · Stoic · Mischievous · Bold · Shy

Tribes & stats

Beasts have six stats: HP, ATK, DEF, SPD, SP, RES (base values 45-80). Each beast belongs to a tribe that biases two of those stats (+18):

TribeFavours
brawlerATK, HP
wardenDEF, RES
skirmisherSPD, ATK
channelerSP, RES
colossusHP, DEF
tricksterSPD, SP

Stats scale with level (1->100). XP to the next level is level³ × 15. Beasts evolve through 5 forms at levels 1 / 16 / 32 / 48 / 64, with stat multipliers 1.0 -> 1.25 -> 1.55 -> 1.9 -> 2.3.

Tribe passives (e.g. crit or damage perks) are defined but not yet applied in battle - they're coming in a later update.

Your field journal

Open a beast’s Field journal from the website Beastiary, or open its detail card in the app/local GUI. Each beast has a stable temperament, quirk and signal signature. These describe its personality and do not alter combat stats.

The journal records its discovery device, time and signal categories, plus new catches, training and battles. It retains the latest 100 memories and lifetime recorded battle/win totals. Older beasts honestly show “Not recorded” for unavailable origins; past events are not invented. Raw camera images, codes and network names are never included in the journal.

Mark favorites to find them with the collection filter and protect them against release. Add a nickname and personal notes (up to 280 characters). Notes and favorite status are private to the owner and reset on account trades. Collection goals track your current beasts, all nine elements, a shiny companion and a favorite; they do not award currency.

Activity and receipts

The Activity page and app Activity tab show rewards, purchases, captures, trades and other recorded changes, 20 entries at a time. Filter by type and use Older/Newer to navigate. Each receipt shows what changed and balances afterward. The app always uses the selected host’s history. History begins with this update and existing balances; it cannot reconstruct older transactions.
